When Is Doctor Strange 2’s Release Date?
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently scheduled to premiere in the United States on May 6, 2022. The sequel was originally set for release on May 7, 2021.
However, the film will launch on May 5 in the UK. Rolling Stone also suggests that European nations including Germany, Italy, and Sweden, plus South Korea, will also get it on May 4.
When Will Doctor Strange 2 Be Available to Stream?
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is not currently available to stream online, but we know it will eventually come to Disney+ rather than HBO Max or Netflix. Unlike other Marvel films this year that dropped simultaneously on Disney+ and in theaters, Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness is currently only available to watch in theaters. But due to the massive amount of No Way Home torrents online that popped up after that release, Disney may just decide to push up the digital release date — but it just won’t be streaming on Disney+ yet.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is not currently streaming on Disney+, but as with most Marvel Studios films since November 2019, the movie will eventually release on the platform sometime later this year. It will be a theatrical exclusive for at least 45 days (or perhaps longer, given No Way Home‘s run was extended to 90), so you should expect to see it on the streamer sometime in July or August.
Is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on HBO Max?
No. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a Sony movie, not a Warner Bros. movie. Also, HBO Max will no longer be streaming theatrical movies in 2022. (Last year, Warner Bros. opted to simultaneously release its theatrical slate on streaming, meaning HBO Max subscribers could watch movies like Matrix Resurrections at home. This year, however, Warner Bros. theatrical movies will have a 45-day theaters-only run before moving to HBO Max.)

Not right now—but it will be someday. While you certainly won’t see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on Netflix before it releases on video-on-demand, last year Sony signed a deal to bring the studio’s 2022 film slate to Netflix during the “Pay 1 window,” which used to be 18-months after the film’s theatrical release, but could be even sooner, given that most theatrical windows have been reduced from 90 days to 45 days during the COVID-19 pandemic. Still, it’s likely you will see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on Netflix in 2023.
