Speedskating ranks as the third most popular event in the games, followed by bobsledding. Looking further down the list we see sports such as ice hockey, with about a third of men tuning in and about one-fourth overall.
The great thing about the Olympics is that it features sports that are often only seen once every four years, such as skeleton, luge, bobsledding, and ski jumping. Since these events are so uncommonly seen, it can keep one glued to their televisions. Be aware that there isn’t nearly as much coverage of these events as others, such as curling, figure skating, and ice hockey. You can follow along with these sports and feel you like you are really getting to know the participants, perhaps motivating you to give these sports a try yourself.
Whatever your favorite event is, you find something to your liking with 109 medal events over 15 disciplines and seven different sports, which concludes on February 20.
The games come just once every four years. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to see some of the most gifted and dedicated athletes in the word fight for a place on the podium and most importantly, represent themselves, their family, and their country with pride.
