Movie synopsis: Morbius is an antihero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Roy Thomas and initially designed by penciler Gil Kane, the vampire superhero first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man.
Morbius is a vampire, turned by an experimental serum to cure his blood disease. However, the serum did not have the results he hoped for and instead transformed him into a living vampire with mythical bat-like abilities. He struggles with all of this, along with his violent nature, as he attempts to cure himself of his condition.

Morbius Release Date?
Sony has pushed back the release date for the Marvel film Morbius, starring Academy Award winner Jared Leto. While the Columbia Pictures title was previously scheduled to open on January 28, it will now hit theaters in IMAX and premium large formats on April 1.

Morbius is not available on HBO Max. It was a TV movie in 2010 and is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The studio behind it, Columbia Pictures Television, occasionally makes their TV shows/movies available to buy digitally on places such as iTunes and Amazon Video. Still, they also have a website where you can watch a lot of their stuff for free.
Will Morbius Be On Hulu?
There’s been no official confirmation as to whether or not the upcoming Morbius movie will be streaming on Hulu. However, given that both Sony and Marvel are now owned by Disney. The film could likely end up on the platform at some point.

Morbius Will Be Streaming On Netflix In 2022
For those looking to watch Morbius in a less expensive way, the good news is the film will be making its way to Netflix at some point next year.
This has to do with the fact that Sony and Netflix struck a deal in 2021 that makes the streaming service the exclusive home for Sony’s theatrical releases, beginning in 2022. It should be noted that this only extends to the U.S. though. Apologies to those who live outside of North America.

The question is, how long will it take for the movie to arrive on Netflix after it hits theaters? No firm date has been set as of this writing but we can provide a rough estimate.
When Sony had its deal with stars, recent theatrical releases were making their way to the service anywhere between six and eight months after they were first released. That means Morbius could be streaming on Netflix as early as July, but perhaps as late as September 2022.
We’ll be sure to keep you posted as further updates are provided and as specific streaming dates are revealed. Morbius is set to arrive in theaters on January 28, 2022.
When Will Morbius Be Streaming on VOD?
Upon its initial release, Morbius will be playing exclusively in theaters. But gone are the days of having to wait nearly three months for a blockbuster movie to be made available at home.
Rather, most movies become available on premium VOD mere weeks after they first hit theaters, meaning that studios charge a premium to rent the new movie at home through a digital retailer, such as Fandango, Amazon Prime Video, or Vudu.
In this case, Sony has committed to a theatrical release, likely of at least 45 days. That means the movie will likely be available to rent some time in mid-March. This, however, is all subject to change as things continue to evolve and studios adapt to the post-Covid landscape.
But Sony has made it clear they are committed to releasing movies in theaters, meaning viewers will have to wait at least a little bit for this one. If Sony shortens the window to around 30 days, for whatever reason, it might — and we stress might — make its way to VOD in early March, though mid-to-late March seems far more likely.
When is Morbius coming out on Blu-ray and DVD?
At the time of this writing, we only know about the movie’s theater release. Morbius premieres in theaters on Jan. 28, 2022. This means that the movie does not have a streaming release. That said, you will not be able to stream the movie online anywhere for a while. When the movie does become available to stream, its online home will not be HBO Max.
Surprisingly, Netflix will be where you can stream the movie after it leaves theaters. At least according to What’s On Netflix, Morbius will stream on Netflix between June 2022 and early September 2022. As soon as we know the official date, including international dates, we’ll update this post!
As far as a Blu-ray and DVD release, we’re not sure, but movies are usually available on disc 2-5 months after their theater release date. As soon as we learn more about the Blu-ray and DVD release date we’ll update this post! If this timeline is right, we could see Morbius on Blu-ray and DVD as early as late March 2022.
