The Match pits Bryson DeChambeau against Brooks Koepka at Wynn Las Vegas just off the strip.
It all goes down at 4 p.m. ET on the Friday after Thanksgiving. The match is set for 12 holes and now we have learned about the special on-course contests that will come along with it. Unlike previous Matches, which were team events, this one brings together two long-time social-media combatants in a 1-on-1 competition.
This closest-to-the-pin and longest drives challenges will also aim to do a lot of good for the community with Feeding American, two prominent children’s hospitals as well as the APGA on the receiving end of some big bucks.

Brooks vs. Bryson: The Rivalry
The showdown will attempt to settle a lengthy feud between DeChambeau and Koepka that dates back to January 2019, when Koepka took a shot at DeChambeau’s pace of play. “I just don’t understand how it takes a minute and 20 seconds, or a minute and 15 to hit a golf ball — it’s not that hard,” he said. Things escalated with a confrontation at the Northern Trust, the first event of the 2019 FedEx Cup Playoffs when the two spoke on the putting green, but they ultimately agreed to bury the hatchet.
But the peace agreement didn’t last forever; DeChambeau took a shot at Koepka’s physique in the ESPN Body Issue, Koepka fired back with a photo of his trophies, and so on.
Things re-escalated this spring when a video leaked from the PGA Championship showing an outtake from a Koepka interview with Todd Lewis. In the video, DeChambeau and his caddie walk by chatting mid-interview, and Koepka do little to hide his annoyance, rolling his eyes, unleashing a few choice words, and ultimately unleashing the rivalry’s next chapter.

Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau, arguably the fiercest rivals in golf right now, are set to go head-to-head in the next installment of “The Match” on November 26. The pair, who were both parts of the recently victorious US Ryder Cup team, will compete in a 12-hole event at Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas. Koepka and DeChambeau’s rivalry has been brewing for the past two years.
They have both previously made jibes about each others’ physiques, and at this year’s US Open, Koepka’s eye-rolling reaction to one of DeChambeau’s interviews prompted a slew of memes. This will be the fifth edition of “The Match” and the second for DeChambeau, who beat Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson while playing alongside Aaron Rodgers in July.
The first iteration of the event, which sees players mic’d up while on the course, took place between Mickelson and Tiger Woods in 2018. In the past three years, it has raised nearly $30 million in support of various charities and initiatives, according to the PGA Tour. “So does this mean we’re having ‘Friendsgiving,’” four-time major winner Koepka tweeted in reference to the head-to-head taking place a day after Thanksgiving, The event will be broadcast on Turner Sports and simulcast on TBS, truTV and HLN.
Overview
The Match is a head-to-head match play golf competition and an unofficial event on the PGA Tour. It was first held in 2018 between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, with both players donating portions of the $9 million purse to charity.
Subsequent editions have taken the form of a celebrity pro-am played in the four-ball format, and participants have included NFL stars Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Aaron Rodgers, and NBA stars Charles Barkley and Stephen Curry, with almost $30 million raised. The Match 5: DeChambeau Vs. Koepka Betting Odds
This matchup is quite different from the typical round of golf, as it will feature only Koepka and DeChambeau competing on just 12 holes. This will be the first version of “The Match” that features just two golfers since the first-ever version of the event, which took place in 2018 between Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.
