AMAs 2021: BTS is up for ‘Artist Of The Year
BTS has been listed as one of the ‘Artist Of The Year’ nominees at the American Music Awards for the first time.
Earlier today (October 28), the American Music Awards 2021 officially announced the nominees for all categories. As one of the most important annual music awards in the US (besides Grammy, MTV VMAs, Billboard Music Awards, People’s Choice Music Awards, …), this list of nominations has quickly attracted much attention from the international public.
Notably, BTS is officially included in the list of nominees in the most important category: Artist of the Year, going up against famous Western artists such as Taylor Swift, Drake, Ariana Grande, Olivia Rodrigo and The Weeknd.
This is also the first time that BTS has received such a huge nomination at an American award. Although the popular global boy group was nominated and won many times in the States before, all of those awards only belong to the “sideline” categories.
